GOglobal@EMD structure

We aim to attract high potential graduates early in their careers, providing them with a strong development platform from the very start. In this context, EMD Inhouse Consulting serves as the launch pad to build the core competencies and important skills you need to take off into the world of business.

So if you have the technical fit, a global orientation and the ambition to take the lead – we are happy to facilitate your professional as well as personal growth and offer you great long-term career prospects.

What do we get out of it? Tomorrow’s business leaders and EMD’s continued success of course!

GOglobal@EMD - Global Graduate Program is a 24 month fixed-term program for graduates with a dual academic background in natural/life science and business/economics.

As a participant, you are part of EMD Inhouse Consulting, the internal consultancy of the EMD Group. Your job is supporting our headquarters as well as subsidiaries in the development and implementation of strategic management as well as operational projects. We offer you training on-the-job in the form of project-based assignments as well as advanced training for further qualifications.

EMD’s Global Graduate Program comprises two stages:

Part 1 – Your launch pad: EMD Inhouse Consulting

Become part of our Inhouse Consulting team: At stage one, you gain relevant business experience by supporting worldwide consulting projects for the entire EMD Group. The main focus is on developing your project management and consulting skills, acquiring analytical toolkits and starting a network within the EMD Group. At the beginning of the program, you will be working in EMD’s Inhouse Consulting department at our headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany, for up to 6 months, afterwards in the Boston area, USA

Part 2 – Your accelerator: EMD’s line organization

Tackle your personal challenge: At stage two, you work on individual assignments of three to four months, either in dedicated projects or our daily business in Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals and EMD Group Functions. As working cross-culturally is an integral part of us, you can also look forward to an assignment abroad in one of our worldwide subsidiaries.

The main focus at this stage is on gaining business experience and on strengthening your global network. We want you perfectly prepared for starting your career at EMD!

The basic principle and ultimate goal of the Global Graduate Program is to realize your full potential through project-based assignments. From the very beginning, you will be part of EMD’s Inhouse Consulting team – and thus a broad worldwide network with a direct connection to senior management.

On your way through our Global Graduate Program, you benefit from training on-the-job, off-the-job development seminars and advanced training units by internal as well as external professionals. Additionally, a personal mentor from senior business management can be chosen to support your professional progress and your transition to a permanent position within the EMD Group.

Inhouse Consulting is the internal consultancy of the EMD Group. We support our headquarters and subsidiaries in the development and implementation of management projects – serving both the pharmaceutical and chemical businesses as well as our Group functions.

Our interdisciplinary team of consultants is EMD's prime choice when dealing with strategic and operational management along the entire value-added chain, from local to global.
