What made you join EMD Millipore?
I came to EMD Millipore after 18 years with Balston Filters, a division of Parker Hannifin, as a Technical Service Representative. I viewed EMD Millipore as an innovative company where I would be able to further enhance my technical skills and career.
What are your current responsibilities?
I am currently one of the Technical Service Managers with the Process Solutions Business Unit. My responsibilities include managing the day-to-day process workflow for our Tech Service group. I also actively use opportunities to teach others in technical areas, interpersonal areas, and communication, networking, team and meeting situations. Another responsibility is to manage and develop my staff by providing regular feedback and coaching to the team with appropriate action planning.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I really enjoy working with my team; one great aspect about Technical Service is that every day we get a new question from our customers that we may not have received before. This allows us to work together with other teams such as Field Marketing, Technical Consultants, Quality and Product Management to help provide a potential solution for our customers.
What do you remember about your first day?
After orientation at Headquarters, I went to my location, which was Building 1 in Billerica, and remember how welcoming everyone was in Technical Service. It was a nice mixture of veteran and new team members. Everyone was extremely supportive and offered assistance with computers, phone and the locations of the coffee machine and cafeteria!
